Abstract
A multi-material Euler code for laser-driven implosion simulations which is named as PHOENI-X (Parallel Hydrodynamic & Omniphysics code for ENergy Innovation-X) is introduced. The code is mainly focused on studies of the implosion physics and the simulation methods in the direct-drive inertial confinement fusion. Especially, researches about the laser ablation hydrodynamic instabilities, the analysis of the implosion performance degradation and the applicability of computational methods in the high energy state. Being applied to a direct-drive implosion, the code can present reasonable one dimensional density profile at bangtime. When the code is applied to two and three dimensional simulations, it can give qualitatively reasonable implosion performances at a low computational consumption. Some studies about  ablative hydrodynamic instabilities based on the code will also be introduced.
